I’ve developed a deck of cards with over 50 racially biased statements AND have included follow up explanations that spark powerful conversations that inspire action.

These cards can help to challenge deeply ingrained societal status quo’s , white fragility, workplace microaggressions and racist (overt and covert) attacks that black people face daily in almost every sector of society.

‘SLAY YOUR INNER RACIST’ deck of cards are a great resource for:

*Black Folks and other POC can learn how to respond to racist remarks by providing historic context. This can increase feelings of empowerment.

*White Folks or people with ‘white skin privilege’ who want to identify their own biases and unconscious oppressive beliefs (including white allies/accomplices); learn ways to decenter whiteness; move toward action and to challenge family, community and oppressive systems that implement discriminatory practices.

How does racism relate to mental health?
Whether you inflict hatred, racism, and discriminatory acts on others, or if you are the recipient or victim of such acts, it robs everyone of positive human connections, meaningful relationships and ultimately self care including quality sleep, good nutrition and exercise declines.

When we work toward dismantling internal and external oppression we can learn to be more consciously present, practice self compassion, and increase our faith and love for humankind. That is mental wellness to me.
